HLC Credit Analyst II (Commercial Banking)

Location: Houston, TX; office-based role in the United States. Applicants must be currently authorized to work full time in the United States. Immigration sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Monitor and underwrite business loans in the Regional Bank Business Loan Portfolio.
• Analyze financial statements, spreads, borrowing bases, debt service, financial ratios, covenant compliance, and waiver requests.
• Underwrite simple credit requests, recommend approval or decline, and explain credit decisions.
• Manage assigned covenant and borrowing base violations and provide commentary on portfolio upgrades and downgrades.
• Assist with monthly compliance reporting and provide credit recommendations based on borrower financial conditions and early warning factors.
• Review peer work and coach fellow HLC Credit Analysts on financial analysis, credit policy, procedures, and business writing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least one year of experience in business or commercial banking in a centralized lending environment.
• Proven experience reviewing and analyzing financial data.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, planning, follow-up, and independent decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
• Current authorization to work full time in the United States; visa or immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Business/Data Analytics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other internet resources.
• Customer service excellence, motivation, focus, and goal orientation.
