2027 Analyst I, Global Investment Banking - Industrials (Investment Banking)

Location: New York, NY; onsite at 300 Madison Ave. Candidates must be legally eligible to work at the specified location and may need a valid work or study permit.

Salary: $115,000 annual salary for the New York market, based on experience, qualifications, and location. Additional incentive compensation may be available.

What you will do

• Support M&A, divestiture, debt and equity financing, capital structure, and strategic advisory mandates.
• Develop and audit sophisticated financial models, valuation analyses, cash flow analyses, and returns analyses.
• Conduct industrial-sector, company, financial, and market research to identify opportunities and support client recommendations.
• Prepare client proposals, pitchbooks, presentations, and transaction materials.
• Analyze comparable companies and precedent transactions and assist with company due diligence.
• Collaborate with CIBC Capital Markets units and global offices while supporting and mentoring analyst teammates.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree completed by May 2027.
• 0–3 years of investment banking experience with meaningful financial modeling and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of valuation techniques, accounting principles, financial statements, and business combinations.
• Strong quantitative skills and proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, FactSet, Bloomberg, and applicable financial software.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, relationship-building, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States at the specified New York location; a valid work or study permit may be required.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of the industrial sector and capital markets.
• Experience with private equity clients, industrial technology, aerospace, mobility, energy, or industrial services.
