Senior Equity Analyst (Industrials)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work arrangement with the proportion of on-site and remote work discussed during the interview

Annual base salary: CAD 130,000–170,000, plus participation in a discretionary incentive or bonus program.

What you will do

• Develop actionable Overweight and Underweight investment recommendations for companies in the Canadian Industrials sector.
• Prepare and present industry reviews, investment theses, and thematic research for portfolio strategies including Core, Value, Income-Oriented, Quality, and Growth.
• Build and maintain financial models, forward-looking estimates, ESG analysis, and research documentation.
• Engage with portfolio managers and portfolio analysts to incorporate research ideas into portfolios.
• Collaborate with Asset Allocation and Fixed Income credit analysts on sector allocation and company analysis.
• Monitor compliance with client investment policies and communicate research internally and externally when appropriate.

Requirements

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and hold any required work or study permit.
• Five or more years of relevant research, analysis, or portfolio management experience, including coverage of the Canadian Industrials sector.
• Degree in management, finance, economics, or a quantitative discipline.
• Quantitative skills in indicator and model development, plus familiarity with macroeconomic, microeconomic, and ESG analysis.
• Proficiency in computer modeling and spreadsheet analysis, with the ability to work independently and in a research team.
• Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, influencing, accountability, and professional-integrity skills.

Nice to have

• Completed or in-progress Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
