Conveyor Solutions & Simulation Lead

What you will do

• Develop and maintain standard conveyor architectures, reusable modules, station interfaces, accumulation strategies, merge and divert behavior, and mechanical constraints for the Stride platform.
• Establish technical standards, reference layouts, design templates, modeling assumptions, validation methods, and engineering decision records.
• Lead simulation and trade studies covering conveyor topology, buffering, station-to-station flow, equipment selection, footprint, cost, throughput, bottlenecks, and operational robustness.
• Develop reusable simulation models and components that support system-level design and solution viability decisions.
• Collaborate with Controls, Software, Applications Engineering, Solutions Architecture, manufacturing, and operations teams on system behavior and customer layouts.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while incorporating deployment feedback, customer constraints, field issues, and manufacturing lessons into productized design updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, controls, industrial, or systems engineering, robotics, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience designing, modeling, optimizing, or validating industrial automation, warehouse automation, robotic, conveyor, or related systems.
• Experience with conveyor design, accumulation, buffering, merges, diverts, station interfaces, equipment utilization, and material flow constraints.
• Experience with AutoCAD or a similar 2D/3D layout tool and Emulate3D/Sim3D by Rockwell Automation or a comparable simulation tool.
• Strong understanding of throughput, bottlenecks, safety, installation, maintainability, MTBF/MTTR, OEE, and operational robustness.
• Ability to lead engineers, define technical direction, communicate tradeoffs, and coordinate execution across multiple disciplines.

Nice to have

• PLC or industrial controls experience and experience integrating conveyors with robots, sorters, scanners, sensors, safety systems, or WMS/WES/WCS platforms.
• Python or C++ experience for simulation, automation, data analysis, tooling, or performance profiling.
• Experience with Nvidia Omniverse, digital twins, virtual commissioning, MBSE, hardware-in-the-loop, or software-in-the-loop testing.
• Experience with reusable simulation components, APIs, SDKs, modeling tools, Git, Jira, Linux/Ubuntu, CI/CD, or code reviews.
• Experience working with conveyor vendors, systems integrators, installation teams, customer site engineering teams, or automation partners.
