Group Leader–Production Test Development and Execution (Aerospace/Defense)

Salary: $95,000–$245,000 base salary per year

What you will do

• Lead a multidisciplinary group of 10–20 test technicians, test engineers, and logistics specialists.
• Define the group’s technical roadmap, performance metrics, staffing plans, budgets, and equipment requirements.
• Plan and execute functional, environmental, performance, and acceptance testing for complex hardware-software systems.
• Establish logistics, inventory, transportation, configuration management, and chain-of-custody processes for high-value hardware.
• Deliver validated test data, as-built documentation, and production handoff packages for transition to Operations.
• Hire, mentor, evaluate, and develop team members while collaborating with program offices, customers, engineering groups, and external partners.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of progressive leadership experience combined with hands-on work in logistics, integration, test development, or related engineering support for advanced aerospace or defense systems.
• Experience planning, executing, and evaluating complex hardware-software test campaigns.
• Knowledge of logistics for high-value or classified hardware, including inventory control, material handling, transportation, customs, and ITAR compliance.
• Experience with test-equipment calibration and safety or quality standards such as OSHA and ISO 17025.
• Current U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret or Top Secret/SCI level is required at the time of hire and must be maintained.

Nice to have

• Experience with strategic weapons, Department of Defense, space, GN&C, or inertial navigation systems.
• Experience with flight software, real-time control systems, hardware-in-the-loop, Enhanced Ground Test, or high-G vibration testing.
• Experience developing requirements, traceability matrices, and verification and validation plans.
• Experience with government proposals, cost estimates, Power BI, Tableau, or technical graphics.
• Research collaboration experience with universities, national laboratories, or industry partners.
