Research & Innovation Product Technologist (Tea Product Development)

Location: Cairo, Egypt; domestic travel required 20% of the time

What you will do

• Lead the technical delivery of tea blend innovation and improvement projects from product concepts through formulation, prototypes, costing, quality assessment, ingredient lists, compliance, and claims.
• Translate development briefs into consumer-focused formulations aligned with market preferences and commercial requirements.
• Develop tea products with strong organoleptic profiles while maintaining sustainability, cost, and quality standards.
• Organize tasting sessions and lead technical and organoleptic investigations to validate concepts and resolve quality challenges.
• Create product specifications and manage a technical database covering briefs, test results, and formulation best practices.
• Collaborate with regional, global, commercial, quality, procurement, supplier, and regulatory teams; provide product science training and technical assets.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in product development, formulation, quality assessment, and improvement initiatives.
• Experience or strong interest in black tea, instant powders, fruit and herbal products, and green tea development across different markets.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams and manage several projects simultaneously.
• Ability to identify, manage, and mitigate project and product risks.
• Business fluency in English and required Arabic language skills.
• Based in Cairo, Egypt, with domestic travel required 20% of the time.
