Intern (Transportation Modelling)

Location: Bologna, Metropolitan City of Bologna, Italy. Workplace: On-site. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the European Union without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

What you will do

• Support traffic due diligence and transportation planning projects.
• Develop complex transportation models and perform related analytical tasks.
• Use VISUM, VISSIM, Emme, and CUBE for macrosimulation and microsimulation network modelling.
• Apply analytical methods such as logit models to transportation projects.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the business on projects for public and private clients in Italy and abroad.
• Prepare reports and presentations that communicate technical findings clearly.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in planning, engineering, or a related field, ideally with a transportation focus.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with good knowledge of Excel.
• Knowledge of macrosimulation and/or microsimulation network modelling using VISUM or VISSIM.
• Understanding and application of logit models.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in Italian and English, including the ability to explain technical details to non-technical audiences.
• EU work authorization without employer sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of GIS software.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis using R or Stata.
