Manufacturing Project Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site at the Hidden Valley Ranch plant in Wheeling, Illinois, USA; travel up to 20% required.

Salary: $75,800–$170,100 per year, depending on U.S. labor-cost zone and qualifications. The role is also eligible for incentive plans.

What you will do

• Lead capital projects from feasibility and business justification through detailed engineering, installation, commissioning, and start-up.
• Drive equipment efficiency improvements, cost savings, capacity expansions, layout changes, process scale-ups, and automation initiatives.
• Manage contractors and external engineering firms while controlling project scope, schedules, budgets, and quality.
• Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and engineering documentation.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies using reliability-centered maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance, and computerized maintenance management practices.
• Partner with Environmental, Health & Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance teams and train employees on new systems and equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience leading major capital projects in manufacturing or plant engineering, preferably in consumer packaged goods or food manufacturing.
• Experience managing project planning, analysis, approvals, cost, scheduling, quality, start-up, commissioning, and training.
• Experience with equipment troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, and corrective and preventive actions.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and EWM.
• Strong technical, interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Allen-Bradley controls and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance, or computerized maintenance management systems.
