Lead Software Engineer (Tech 360)

Location: Buffalo, New York, United States; hybrid schedule with four days onsite and one day working from home per week at Seneca One Buffalo.

Salary: $116,400–$194,000 annual USD.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support enterprise-grade applications for the Tech 360 technology reporting platform.
• Build REST APIs, responsive web applications, ETL solutions, and scalable database systems.
• Lead cloud-native implementations using Kubernetes, containers, and microservices architecture.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and deployment.
• Define API and integration strategies and implement authorization and policy-driven access controls with architecture and security teams.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to Agile or SAFe delivery, and promote resiliency, operational excellence, and secure engineering practices.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree with at least 7 years of systems analysis or application development experience, or bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with Angular or modern front-end development.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native development, and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Expert proficiency in at least one relevant programming language and professional proficiency in at least one additional language.
• Strong understanding of software development practices, application architecture, and SDLC methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience building executive-facing reporting, analytics, dashboards, centralized reporting platforms, or decision-support applications.
• Experience integrating APIs, databases, data warehouses, and cloud platforms.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Chart.js, D3.js, SQL, data modeling, KPIs, and reporting frameworks.
• Experience designing scalable, secure, maintainable, and reliable application architectures.
• Experience mentoring engineers, setting technical strategy, and establishing engineering standards for large-scale initiatives.
