Safety Assessor (Functional Safety)

What you will do

• Perform ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 functional safety assessments.
• Support process updates for ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 compliance.
• Deliver functional safety training.
• Support cutting-edge innovation topics and proof-of-concept development.
• Strengthen and disseminate the functional safety culture across organizational boundaries and with management.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software safety, including architecture, design, and testing for functional safety systems in automotive or industrial environments.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Very good knowledge of ISO 26262 and a good understanding of IEC 61508.
• Understanding of the responsibility split between suppliers and OEMs for product safety.
• Technical leadership, stakeholder influence, and strong communication skills across engineering, business, customer, and executive audiences.
• Previous team management experience.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Model-Based Design for software.
• Previous experience as a safety architect developing Safety Elements out of Context for embedded software components.
