Sr Lead SW Support Engineer (Java/Cloud)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; onsite production support with 7x24 availability, including after-hours and weekend coverage.

Salary: $99,600–$169,200 USD annual base pay.

What you will do

• Lead production stability initiatives, prevent recurring issues, and improve application availability and operational efficiency.
• Drive change, incident, and problem management processes, project releases, and ITIL-aligned support activities.
• Coordinate critical production issue resolution with application development, offshore, business, vendor, and client-facing teams.
• Analyze root causes, raise and manage support tickets, and implement continuous improvement measures.
• Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff while coordinating systems projects, status reporting, specifications, and implementations.
• Participate in on-call support for high- and critical-severity incidents outside office hours and on weekends.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.
• 5–8+ years of application development or production support experience using modern technical frameworks and architectures.
• Prior experience supporting business applications built with Java and database technologies.
• Experience with Agile or XP environments, secure software development lifecycle practices, and collaboration with external technology teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, multitasking, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience working with technologies such as Java, J2EE, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Azure, cloud computing, REST, Git, Gradle, Maven, Spring, React, Node, Oracle PL/SQL, Databricks, Neo4j, or .NET.
