Principal Product Manager, Roon

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands. Hybrid work environment with most office-based roles onsite three days a week. Travel up to 5% domestically and internationally.

Salary: €73,725–€108,130 annual gross base salary, plus possible variable compensation and allowances.

What you will do

• Define Roon’s product strategy, target audience, positioning, and long-term direction.
• Represent listeners through direct conversations, community forums, support tickets, reviews, and product data.
• Translate strategy into a prioritized feature set, quarterly roadmap, specifications, and implementation plans.
• Build the product measurement practice, define success metrics, query data with SQL or equivalent, and evaluate experiments.
• Create interactive prototypes with AI tooling and develop research pipelines, internal tools, automations, and evaluation harnesses.
• Investigate the existing codebase, assess business rules and technical constraints, and maintain a high bar for product experience in partnership with engineering and design.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of product management experience, including ownership of strategy for a complete product or business.
• Hands-on experience conducting research, launching new products, and managing mature products over time.
• Strong personal connection to music and the ability to understand the needs of serious listeners.
• Experience using AI in research, prototyping, and personal tooling, including tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, or v0.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions with incomplete information, communicate with expert users and senior leadership, and collaborate with engineering and design.
• Experience building measurement practices and working with subscription metrics such as trial-to-paid conversion, retention, churn, and lifetime value.

Nice to have

• A shipped side project, tool, or small product used by other people.
• Experience in music, audio, media, enthusiast products, or products combining hardware and software.
• Experience with subscription businesses or vocal, publicly organized user communities.
• Experience with the Roon API or as a Roon user.
• Deeper engineering experience.
