Senior Software Engineer (Roku)

Location: Hybrid in Katowice, Poland

What you will do

• Develop, test, and maintain features for the Roku application, focusing on user interfaces and video playback.
• Build UI components, screens, and customer journeys aligned with product requirements, design guidance, and Roku standards.
• Improve performance, stability, accessibility, and usability across supported Roku devices and operating system versions.
• Integrate backend services, playback APIs, analytics, and experimentation capabilities.
• Investigate and resolve UI, playback, application stability, and device-specific defects.
• Collaborate with engineering, Product, Design, QA, and Platform teams throughout development, testing, release, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Experience developing applications or features for connected TV, streaming, mobile, web, or embedded platforms.
• Understanding of UI development principles, component-based development, navigation, responsiveness, accessibility, and consistent user experience.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of video playback, streaming quality, error handling, and playback troubleshooting.
• Practical experience with testing, debugging, version control, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile collaboration.
• Familiarity with AI or LLM-based development tools and responsible AI practices, including code validation, data protection, and security.
• Parts of the recruitment process and the resume must be in English.

Nice to have

• Roku, BrightScript, or SceneGraph experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn and develop technical capabilities.
