Senior Frontend Engineer (React)

Location: Fully remote, with remote engineers currently based in the UK, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Italy, Spain, and Portugal; option to work abroad. London office available.

What you will do

• Build and maintain web application interfaces using TypeScript, React, React Router, TanStack Query, MaterialUI, and BaseUI.
• Translate product requirements and designs into technical specifications covering user flows, system behaviour, edge cases, acceptance criteria, and testing.
• Design component APIs, state management, data-fetching patterns, and REST API contracts for a growing service-oriented architecture.
• Improve frontend performance, accessibility, security, observability, and production reliability across customer-facing applications.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; review, refactor, and retire code to maintain a large, long-lived codebase.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other frontend engineers through discovery, delivery, code review, and pair programming.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years of commercial React and TypeScript experience.
• Expert-level TypeScript and modern JavaScript knowledge, with deep command of React, data fetching, routing, and component libraries.
• Experience shipping and operating production frontends for customer-facing SaaS products, including monitoring, incident response, and performance improvement.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals covering design patterns, testing, debugging, readability, and maintainability at scale.
• Experience consuming and shaping REST APIs in a service-oriented architecture; Django REST Framework experience is useful.
• Strong working fluency in English is required for communicating technical concepts and trade-offs.

Nice to have

• Experience with Django REST Framework or an equivalent backend framework.
• Professional experience using AI coding tools within a spec-driven development workflow.
• Experience with Sentry, Grafana Logs, New Relic, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD.
