Maintenance Electrician

Location: Altona VIC 3018, Australia; onsite manufacturing facility

Salary: Up to AUD 62.42 per hour, plus overtime and applicable allowances.

Circular Plastics Australia operates large-scale PET recycling facilities that transform used plastic bottles and containers into food-grade recycled plastic resin for new packaging.

What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, fault finding, and troubleshooting on electrical systems and manufacturing production equipment.
• Maintain electrical controls for pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveyors, optical sorting systems, compressors, chillers, and boilers.
• Install, commission, and support new electrical systems and equipment in collaboration with OEM manufacturers.
• Troubleshoot PLC logic, SCADA, Siemens safety control logic, and I/O systems.
• Perform root cause analysis on critical plant failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Support production, safety, quality, and continuous improvement while minimizing downtime.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in a similar electrical maintenance role.
• Relevant trade qualification as an A Class Electrician.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of PLC logic, SCADA, Siemens safety control logic, and Australian Safety Standards.
• Experience with automation technology, emergency maintenance, problem solving, and CMMS software.
• Ability to work onsite in Altona, Victoria, Australia, supporting 24-hour operations and occasional weekend production.

Nice to have

• Additional certifications in PLC programming and SCADA systems.
