Software Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Own features end to end, including design, implementation, testing, rollout, and production follow-up.
• Build and maintain Java and Spring Boot backend services for OTT messaging channels.
• Integrate with partner APIs and webhooks, including API version upgrades and deadline-driven programs.
• Support production systems by investigating incidents, identifying supplier issues, and delivering fixes.
• Improve system reliability, observability, and quality through code reviews, testing, and operational improvements.
• Collaborate with Product and engineering teams while mentoring more junior colleagues.

Requirements

• Mid-level backend engineering experience with 3+ years building backend services, or equivalent independent delivery experience.
• Strong Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot skills, with experience using Maven, Git, and automated tests.
• Experience shipping and operating production systems, including logs, metrics, and incident response.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems, propose designs, and deliver stable, maintainable solutions.
• Clear communication in English with engineering and product stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, REST APIs, and OpenAPI.
• Knowledge of relational or document databases, Redis, CI/CD, Docker, and highly available systems.
• Messaging, CPaaS, or payments experience.
• Polish language skills for the Katowice office.
