Software Engineer 2 (Java/JVM/Spring/Linux/DevOps)

Annual salary: $130,000–$270,000, depending on years of experience

What you will do

• Build scalable backend REST APIs and services using Java and JVM technologies.
• Develop and maintain software in Linux/Unix environments.
• Work with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and relational databases.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, problem solving, and technical collaboration within an Agile team.
• Support complex client solutions and contribute to backend architecture, distributed systems, API design, and DevOps practices.

Requirements

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable polygraph.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Fourteen years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or four additional years of relevant software engineering experience in lieu of the degree.
• Strong Java/JVM, REST APIs, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate, relational database, Git, and Linux/Unix skills.

Nice to have

• Backend architecture, distributed systems, API design, CI/CD, automated testing, TDD, NoSQL, or frontend experience.
• DevOps experience with AWS, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, or scripting.
• Experience supporting fast-paced, complex client solutions and interest in long-term engineering growth.
