Legal Counsel

What you will do

• Provide pragmatic legal counsel to the CPS Division and support the Managing Director and senior leadership team.
• Negotiate, review, and draft customer and supplier contracts, framework agreements, service schedules, and partnership agreements.
• Build and maintain standard contract suites covering liability structures and insurance requirements.
• Manage contractual liability, commercial risk, disputes, claims, negligence issues, customs, and regulatory matters.
• Advise on procurement, logistics, subcontracting, acquisitions, corporate projects, property, and lease matters.
• Support complex operational and commercial projects across offshore wind, oil and gas, marine logistics, freight forwarding, equipment supply, crew operations, and terminal handling.

Requirements

• 5–6 years of post-qualified experience (PQE).
• Experience with commercial contracts, including negotiating liability, indemnity, and insurance positions in service contracts.
• Experience in-house or in private practice; experience in shipping, offshore energy, logistics, or operational businesses is advantageous.
• Commercially minded and pragmatic, with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders and explain legal matters to non-lawyers.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change, and perform calmly under pressure.
