Cybersecurity Engineer (SIEM)

Location: Hybrid role requiring one day onsite in Arlington, Virginia, United States

Salary: $130,000–$142,000 per year

What you will do

• Conduct technical security assessments, audits, penetration testing, and forensic investigations across client/server systems, databases, networks, and vehicle or appliance technology systems.
• Configure and manage SIEM platforms, including event collection, log management, normalization, correlation, monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
• Identify security risks, vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and trends requiring corrective action or continued monitoring.
• Coordinate incident response, intrusion detection management, security advisories, and breach investigations through resolution.
• Define, review, and enforce information security policies, standards, guidelines, and compliance requirements.
• Support vulnerability and patch management, compliance automation, and identity monitoring activities.

Requirements

• At least three years of information systems security engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Physical Science, or another technology-related discipline.
• Hands-on expertise configuring and managing one or more SIEM tools, including log collection, event correlation, monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
• Experience with penetration testing, technical security assessments, vulnerability and patch management, and automated and manual security testing.
• Experience managing routers, firewalls, IDS/IPS, Windows and Linux security, virtualized systems, databases, and security incidents.
• Familiarity with Python or Bash scripting and security automation frameworks.
