Procurement Manager (AI)

Location: South San Francisco, California, United States

Base salary: $124,000–$155,000 annually, plus bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end procurement operations, including procure-to-pay, sourcing, contract lifecycle management, and procurement technology enablement.
• Improve contract-first processes, reduce cycle times, and operate Procurement as a stakeholder-focused service.
• Support Accounting with purchase-order hygiene, invoice matching, accruals, vendor master data, and close activities.
• Pilot and scale AI applications for contract analysis, spend classification, supplier intelligence, negotiation preparation, and workflow automation.
• Lead sourcing events, complex negotiations, supplier performance management, risk monitoring, and strategic partnerships with life-sciences suppliers.
• Drive procure-tech build-versus-buy decisions, spend analytics, supplier concentration analysis, budget-to-actual reporting, and data integrity across procurement systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain.
• Proven negotiation results with complex service agreements, including CRO, services, and technology suppliers.
• Hands-on experience with modern procurement tools such as Ironclad, Coupa, NetSuite, and Ramp.
• Practical AI fluency and experience automating real operational workflows.
• Strong capabilities in spend analysis, dashboarding, supplier ecosystems, and advanced metrics and analytics.
• Concise executive communication, stakeholder partnership, accountability, and an entrepreneurial approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
