Full-stack Developer (Vue)

Location: Hybrid in Kanata, Ontario, Canada

Salary: $114,100–$182,600 CAD per year

What you will do

• Build and enhance customer-facing commerce products such as CNN Underscored.
• Design and implement complex features for web applications and publishing platforms.
• Develop testing artifacts, engineering tooling, and improvements that support the growth of CNN Commerce.
• Partner with engineering, platform, editorial, and programming teams to improve audience growth and user experience.
• Monitor and improve code health, infrastructure health, application performance, and operational excellence.
• Mentor team members, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to interviewing and talent acquisition.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of software development experience focused on application development.
• At least 5 years of experience with Node, Express, Vue, and ES6.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, AWS, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis.
• Strong experience with Fastly, Serverless/SAM, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Jenkins, Snowflake, and Git.
• Experience building medium- to large-scale, mission-critical, high-availability production systems and working in Agile teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with non-procedural programming or functional-style concepts.
• Two years of object-oriented JavaScript experience.
• Experience in e-commerce, affiliate platforms, consumer media, or active participation in the technology community.
