Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer (Contract Role) (React)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin, United States; hybrid work with occasional in-person meetings required

Hourly base pay: $75.04–$112.59 CAD

Develop commerce platforms and customer experiences for the PlayStation gaming ecosystem, serving millions of users across consoles, websites, mobile applications, and other Sony devices and services.

What you will do

• Develop, test, document, and deploy business-critical JavaScript applications and platform features.
• Build digital commerce solutions for games, media content, subscription services, and related PlayStation experiences.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, and internal and external engineers to define requirements and technical approaches.
• Write unit and component tests, review pull requests and design plans, and improve code quality and development practices.
• Optimize performance, accessibility, scalability, and responsive experiences across multiple platforms.
• Deploy through CI/CD pipelines, monitor releases, analyze telemetry, and adapt solutions to production data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• At least 5 years of experience building product experiences with strong UI technology skills.
• Object-oriented development experience and proficiency in JavaScript-based application development.
• Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to produce detailed design and development documentation.
• Commitment to robust, sustainable, and high-quality code.

Nice to have

• Experience with HTML, CSS, React, Angular, Jest, and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL, REST APIs, and Docker.
• Experience with build pipelines, CI/CD standards, performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Interest in AI-assisted development tools or automation for improving developer efficiency.
