Applied Computer Vision Engineer (TS/SCI)

Location: Herndon, Virginia, United States. The role requires U.S. citizenship, an active U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance, and occasional travel to government sites.

Base pay: $185,000–$228,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, geographic work location, and market conditions.

What you will do

• Experiment with novel computer vision models using commercial and government GEOINT data.
• Design, develop, and deploy components for computer vision pipelines, including image preprocessing, inference engines, and data stores.
• Explore synthetic data and generative AI applications for GEOINT workflows.
• Transform and engineer varied data types to support AI/ML workflow stages.
• Track advances in computer vision from industry and academia and apply them to customer mission problems.
• Brief internal teams on delivery progress, evaluation results, and project challenges.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance are required; willingness to obtain a CI polygraph is expected.
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, image science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing, testing, and deploying computer vision models.
• Experience with deep learning algorithms for computer vision, the Python data science stack, Python geospatial libraries, containerization platforms, and Linux.
• Ability to work with a geographically distributed team and travel occasionally to government sites.
• Strong technical communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in a relevant technical or image science field.
• Experience with image generation models, Hugging Face, and synthetic training data generation.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, SageMaker, IBM Watson Studio, or similar cloud AI/ML platforms.
• Experience with remote sensing, GEOINT datasets, and government collection platforms.
