Principal Process Development Engineer (MedTech)

Location: Tempe, Arizona, United States; onsite 5 days per week

Salary: $128,800–$193,200 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Lead the development and optimization of material finishing, material handling, automated handling, and assembly processes through transfer to manufacturing.
• Develop robust process flows with process owners, product development teams, and technology development groups.
• Own equipment scouting, selection, qualification, characterization, and process validation activities.
• Manage requirements flow-down, process interfaces, integration risks, risk assessments, and risk burn-down activities.
• Design and coordinate experiments and product builds using DRM, Design for Six Sigma, statistical methods, and data-driven decisions.
• Monitor and improve process yields, implement corrective actions, and maintain documentation in compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 5 years, or a PhD with at least 3 years.
• Experience developing processes from concept through manufacturing transfer and resolving process yield issues.
• Ability to work onsite in Tempe, Arizona, 5 days per week.
• U.S. work authorization is required; H-1B, TN, J, and other sponsorship may be available for this Principal-level role.
• For bachelor’s degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must meet the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).

Nice to have

• Experience with DRM, Design for Six Sigma, Lean Sigma, or Green/Black Belt Lean Sigma certification.
• Knowledge of DOE, statistical analysis, and tools such as Minitab or JMP.
• Experience with wafer fabrication processes or high-volume manufacturing.
• Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
