Process Engineer (Medical Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Create, maintain, and revise controlled mold, process, assembly specification files, setup parameters, preparation cards, deflash specification cards, and work instructions.
• Develop, validate, and improve manufacturing methods for molding, secondary operations, and complex automated, semi-automated, fixture-based, and poka-yoke-controlled processes.
• Sample new molds, tools, fixtures, and assembly equipment; define process windows, confirm repeatability, and release production setup instructions.
• Analyze scrap, downtime, quality concerns, and process variation using manufacturing data and statistical methods, then implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with planning, design, quality, maintenance, machine shop, and mold shop teams to resolve tooling, equipment, fixture, material, tolerance, and processability issues.
• Support equipment readiness, tooling repairs, operator training, process changes, safe operating methods, and escalation of discrepant material.

Requirements

• Experience in manufacturing, process engineering, tooling, molding, assembly operations, or equivalent technical production support.
• Practical experience with machine setup, work instructions, controlled documentation, troubleshooting, problem solving, and production support.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret specifications, engineering drawings, blueprints, tool orders, and shop data.
• Ability to use manufacturing data and basic statistical methods to understand trends, variation, and manufacturing needs.
• Proficient computer skills and clear written and verbal communication with production, technical, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in manufacturing, engineering technology, maintenance, tooling, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex assembly equipment, automation, fixturing, sensors, interlocks, error-proofing, or similar production systems.
