Director Portfolio Management Middle Market Banking (Financial Services)

Location: New Haven, Connecticut, United States. Full-time onsite role; applicants must already be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Annual base pay: $93,750–$165,000 USD.

What you will do

• Manage project and portfolio deliverables from intake and initiation through closure.
• Define project scope, timelines, dependencies, milestones, budgets, and governance.
• Lead cross-functional teams, facilitate project meetings, and coordinate stakeholders and executive sponsors.
• Identify risks, issues, and dependencies; develop mitigation, contingency, and recovery plans.
• Prepare dashboards, presentations, reports, project health updates, and financial communications.
• Drive funding processes, process improvement, change readiness, and implementation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of experience, training, military service, or education.
• 9+ years of formal project management experience in a financial services environment.
• 9+ years of experience with estimating, budgeting, and maintaining project costs.
• 9+ years of experience building project planning documents and coaching or developing other professionals.
• Experience managing multi-year projects with cross-enterprise interdependencies and influencing without authority.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, risk management, analytical, and stakeholder management skills; proficiency with project and portfolio management tools such as Clarity, Visio, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
