Equity Portfolio Manager

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; onsite role. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $137,400–$233,600 USD annual base pay.

What you will do

• Manage equity index portfolios, collective investment funds, ETFs, and separately managed accounts within client, regulatory, tax, and risk requirements.
• Oversee daily implementation activities, including cash equitization, corporate actions, rebalances, benchmark changes, account transitions, and large cash flows.
• Lead implementation for index reconstitutions, mergers, spin-offs, IPOs, deletions, rights offerings, and other benchmark events.
• Evaluate trading and execution strategies with traders and research teams to reduce market impact and transaction costs.
• Monitor portfolio exposures, liquidity, performance attribution, tracking error, benchmark alignment, and operational risks.
• Support client meetings, due diligence, RFPs, investment reviews, product development, and new index and ETF solutions.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in equity index portfolio management, portfolio implementation, trading, or a related investment function.
• Strong understanding of equity markets, benchmark construction methodologies, index replication, corporate actions, index rebalances, and benchmark transitions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience with portfolio management systems, risk monitoring, investment guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• U.S. work authorization is required; employment-based visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• ETF or global portfolio management experience.
• Experience with Aladdin or comparable portfolio management systems.
• Knowledge of portfolio optimization, risk models, transaction cost analysis, and performance attribution.
• CFA designation, MBA, or progress toward an investment credential.
• Experience with Python, SQL, VBA, or investment data analytics tools.
