Loss Mitigation Underwriter II (Safe Act)

Salary: $22.61–$37.67 per hour

What you will do

• Submit loan modification workups across investor workout options and calculate modification terms.
• Review borrower financial documents, income, expenses, credit information, property values, and repayment options.
• Analyze short sale packages, appraisals, title documents, and settlement offers for approval or denial.
• Coordinate with investors, customers, real estate agents, attorneys, title teams, and loss mitigation closing teams.
• Prepare loans for foreclosure mediation hearings and identify solutions for clouded title.
• Maintain account records, prepare management summaries, complete due diligence reviews, and support audit and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of combined higher education and/or experience, including a minimum of 2 years in collections or underwriting.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally by phone.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Knowledge of land title and applicable banking, investor, state, and federal requirements.
• Must work at the Getzville, New York location.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Paralegal certification or experience.
• Mortgage collections experience.
• Knowledge of M&T systems.
