Custom Analog Design Automation Lead (AI)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; onsite role. Shift: United States of America.

Salary: $231,500–$341,075 USD annually for the Bay Area, California.

What you will do

• Define the technical strategy and roadmap for analog design automation and AI-assisted productivity tools.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain automation flows covering schematic capture, layout, extraction, verification, and signoff.
• Apply AI and machine learning to circuit sizing, layout assistance, and verification triage, taking solutions from proof of concept to production.
• Own reuse and hardening strategies for analog IP, automation flows, and methodologies across projects.
• Partner with design, CAD, and methodology teams across fabric, SerDes, and IO groups to deploy common capabilities.
• Establish productivity and quality metrics, report progress to engineering leadership, and mentor design and automation engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in custom-analog circuit design and/or analog design automation, including hands-on automation or AI-assisted methodology experience.
• Experience deploying design automation methodologies across multiple teams rather than a single project.
• Working knowledge of analog and mixed-signal flows and EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso Studio, Maestro/ADE, Spectre, Quantus QRC, Voltus-XFi/EMIR, Synopsys HSPICE, or PrimeSim.
• Expert scripting and automation skills with Cadence SKILL, Python, Tcl, and shell, plus experience with foundry PDKs, EDA vendors, and advanced-node tool qualification.
• Applicants must be eligible for any required U.S. export authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience leading a Center of Excellence or cross-functional capability team.
• Experience with machine-learning-assisted EDA tools or custom AI/ML tooling for circuit design.
• Track record of IP reuse and hardening strategies that reduced design cycle time across multiple tapeouts.
