Manufacturing Engineer - General (Aerospace)

Location: Torrance, California, United States. The role requires production work at the assigned location, travel of up to 50%, and extended hours or weekends when needed.

What you will do

• Lead day-to-day production of separation systems, launchers, and related mechanisms.
• Develop manufacturing processes and factory designs for production rates of thousands of units per year.
• Create and maintain build instructions, test procedures, safety standards, and manufacturing bills of materials.
• Design and validate production tooling and participate in design reviews to improve manufacturability.
• Build detailed production plans and schedules and communicate progress across stakeholders.
• Collaborate with supply chain teams to develop and manage new and existing suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or testing, or substantial university design-team experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and work extended hours or weekends as needed.
• Access to export-controlled information may require satisfaction of applicable U.S. Government authorization, citizenship, or other eligibility requirements.
• Employment may require the ability to access applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing.

Nice to have

• Experience with aerospace mechanisms.
• Experience with structural welding, metal fabrication, or ordnance.
• Experience with NX and Teamcenter CAD/PDM.
• Experience transitioning development processes to production.
