Design Project Manager (Life Sciences)

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 122,000–160,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage complex facility design projects from concept through construction documentation.
• Act as the primary design liaison for clients and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead architects, engineers, consultants, and external partners in delivering integrated solutions on schedule and within budget.
• Define project scope, establish design budgets, and monitor financial and operational performance.
• Ensure designs comply with GMP, FDA, EU Annex 1, and other applicable codes and regulations.
• Identify design risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays and cost overruns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in design project management, preferably for pharmaceutical or biotech facilities.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, cleanroom design, and regulated industry environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Navisworks, and project management platforms.

Nice to have

• PMP or a similar project management certification.
• Familiarity with progressive contracting and integrated project delivery models.
• Experience with CFD modeling, energy-efficient systems, or modular construction strategies.
