Director, Product Management (Developer Platform)

Location: Austin, TX, with hybrid work opportunities. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Q2 provides digital banking and lending solutions to banks, credit unions, alternative finance companies, and fintechs in the U.S. and internationally.

What you will do

• Define and execute the strategy and long-term vision for the developer platform, including public APIs, SDKs, Q2 Code, the developer portal, sandboxes, marketplace, design system, and FDX connectivity.
• Own the end-to-end developer experience from the first API call through production integration.
• Build, lead, and develop a product management team, including hiring, organizational design, and performance management.
• Set platform priorities, budgets, resources, and investment decisions while aligning execution with business goals.
• Partner with engineering, design, legal, risk, compliance, and go-to-market leaders to deliver platform initiatives.
• Represent Q2 with partners, fintechs, industry bodies, executives, and the board on platform and open-banking strategy.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 8+ years of experience, including 3+ years leading platform, API, or developer-facing products.
• 5–7 years of experience managing and developing employees.
• Strong product management background in financial services, fintech, or developer/API platforms.
• Direct experience owning developer platforms or API products such as public APIs, SDKs, developer portals, or marketplaces.
• Proficiency with Agile development, API and platform architecture, and data or analytics tooling.
• Fluent written and oral English and authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. are required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with open-banking and data-interoperability standards such as FDX.
• Knowledge of financial-data access and consent models.
