Buyer II (Manufacturing)

Location: Fairport, New York, United States. The role works in an office and factory environment, with safety glasses required on the factory floor and occasional overtime.

Salary: $58,500–$108,500 per year.

What you will do

• Oversee purchasing activities for assigned production cells and place purchase orders on time.
• Support supplier Material Review Requests and Engineering Change Notice processes.
• Forecast demand, maintain inventory levels, and regularly update order promise dates.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve order, pricing, and supply issues.
• Execute pricing and cost-saving initiatives while balancing quality, service, and supply constraints.
• Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives focused on waste elimination and production efficiency.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in production leadership, planning, purchasing, or supply chain.
• Solid understanding of purchasing processes and strategic planning.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiations.
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle transactions and department-related processes.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in an office and factory environment and follow factory-floor safety requirements.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Scheduling or planning experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
