Claims Counsel (Hybrid in WA)

What you will do

• Investigate claims, evaluate coverage, determine loss and defense liability, and resolve cases.
• Establish settlement and expense reserves.
• Determine when outside counsel is needed and manage claims or litigation through final resolution.
• Negotiate with claimants, opposing counsel, and third parties.
• Attend mediations and required court appearances or proceedings.
• Review legal invoices and assist with initial recovery evaluations.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice law in the United States and licensed in good standing.
• Law degree required.
• Typically 2–4 years of professional experience in title insurance or title underwriting.
• Knowledge of insurance claims and resolution.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the relevant specialization.
