Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico; based at Roadrunner Quantum Lab in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with regular regional travel and periodic travel to Maybell headquarters in Denver, Colorado. Candidates must be based in New Mexico or willing to relocate there.
Salary: $115,000–$145,000 base annually, plus variable compensation and equity participation.

is a venture-backed quantum hardware company developing cryogenic platforms and dilution refrigerators for quantum computing research.
What you will do
- Build relationships across New Mexico’s national laboratories, universities, startups, research consortia, and state and federal programs.
- Own the regional pipeline, open new accounts and programs, and partner with Sales to convert opportunities into system access and hardware sales.
- Drive utilization of the Roadrunner Quantum Lab fleet and convert first-time users into recurring users and full-system customers.
- Support installation, commissioning, cooldown, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cryogenic systems at customer sites.
- Operate as the on-site owner of the four-dilution-refrigerator fleet and provide first-line technical support to regional customers.
- Train customers, document recurring issues, monitor system uptime, and feed field learnings back to Engineering, Manufacturing, Support, and Product.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3–7 years of experience in field applications, technical sales, business development, applications engineering, or technical account management with responsibility for customer relationships and commercial outcomes.
- Hands-on experience with cryogenic systems, dilution refrigerators, vacuum systems, or comparable precision laboratory hardware.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware and communicate technical concepts to non-specialist stakeholders and lab directors.
- Demonstrated success opening accounts, building partnerships, or growing a territory in a technical market.
- Must be based in New Mexico or willing to relocate there, travel regularly within the region, and obtain and maintain clearances required for customer site access.
Nice to have
- Experience with quantum computing hardware, superconducting qubits, or quantum sensing.
- Relationships within the New Mexico or broader Southwest quantum and national-lab ecosystem.
- Customer-facing experience at a hardware startup.
- Experience creating training materials, technical documentation, or customer-facing content.
- Familiarity with research funding cycles, grant-driven purchasing, and laboratory procurement.
