Location: Remote within one of the following U.S. states: Alabama, Arizona, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or West Virginia. U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must be available during Eastern Time business hours; occasional travel to FAA facilities and other locations in the continental United States may be required.

What you will do
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, technical design documents, SOPs, runbooks, user guides, security artifacts, process documentation, training materials, and knowledge-base content.
- Translate complex technical, policy, process, statistical, demographic, and financial information into clear documentation for technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Interview architects, engineers, security practitioners, analysts, program managers, product owners, and users to collect and validate information.
- Document business processes, workflows, security and integration requirements, design decisions, development procedures, implementation steps, and support processes.
- Edit documents for structure, consistency, readability, accessibility, formatting, flow, and technical accuracy.
- Maintain version-controlled repositories, templates, diagrams, documentation standards, review cycles, release updates, and approval records in collaboration with Agile delivery teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any field or discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant technical writing, documentation, communications, or related experience.
- Experience creating technical documentation and diagrams, translating business processes into workflows, and documenting security, integration, design, development, and implementation activities.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint, plus strong writing, editing, research, organizational, verbal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and FAA Contractor Personnel Suitability.
- U.S. citizenship, residence in an eligible U.S. state, and availability during Eastern Time business hours are required.
Nice to have
- FAA or other federal experience and familiarity with federal documentation, accessibility, records-management, security, and review standards.
- Experience supporting Agile, cloud, data, analytics, AI/ML, cybersecurity, governance, or enterprise modernization programs.
- Experience with diagramming, knowledge-management platforms, document repositories, version-controlled content, user training, onboarding, and knowledge-transfer materials.
