TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Naval Defense): Designing and validating electrical subsystems for mission-critical naval handling equipment with an accent on requirements analysis, testability, and system-level verification. Focus on developing electrical designs, managing third-party testing, analyzing verification results, and supporting field integration of reliable naval systems.

Location: Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada for more than five years and able to obtain NATO Secret-level security clearance.

What you will do

  • Translate high-level requirements and applicable standards into electrical design requirements.
  • Design and implement testable electrical subsystems for naval handling equipment.
  • Develop and review electrical tests, analyze verification results, and prepare technical documentation.
  • Manage testing at third-party test houses and support system-level testing in the facility and field.
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines, operations, supply chain, and quality teams to resolve product-related technical issues.
  • Support transformation and improvement projects led by engineering and business leadership.

Requirements

  • Recognized electrical engineering degree and Professional Engineers Ontario license as a P. Eng.
  • At least five years of work experience, preferably in electrical engineering.
  • High-level written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Experience with industrial control systems, including PLC and HMI, is advantageous.
  • Experience with CAD software is advantageous.
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residency in Canada for more than five years is required.
  • Ability to obtain NATO Secret-level security clearance through the Canadian Contract Security Program.
