Senior Director of Engineering, Native Data (AI)

Location: Hybrid, San Francisco; US-based salary tiers are provided

Salary: $401,900–$502,300 USD annually for San Francisco, New York City, and Seattle; $349,400–$436,800 USD annually for other US locations

What you will do

• Own the engineering strategy and execution for Apollo's core data platform in partnership with the CTO and co-founder.
• Lead and grow the teams responsible for Native Data, Waterfall Enrichment, and Scraping & Extension.
• Build systems that use user activity, browser extensions, web data, customer CRMs, and other signals to improve datasets continuously.
• Develop systems for measuring and improving data coverage, quality, confidence, freshness, and synchronization.
• Lead architecture for large-scale enrichment, scraping, ETL, reverse ETL, data ingestion, and data distribution.
• Join the Executive Staff and guide long-term strategy across engineering, product, data, sales, and other functions.

Requirements

• Experience leading high-performing engineering teams responsible for large-scale data or distributed systems.
• Deep technical understanding of data infrastructure, distributed systems, databases, ingestion, synchronization, and data quality.
• Experience operating systems where correctness, freshness, reliability, scale, and cost are critical.
• Track record of building and growing engineering teams while maintaining a high technical bar.
• Ability to combine organizational leadership, product strategy, and deep technical discussions.
• Current fluency with AI-assisted development and a clear perspective on AI's impact on engineering and large-scale data systems.
