Billing Specialist Associate (Healthcare Billing)

Location: United States; flexible hybrid work with remote work tied to the New York Metropolitan area, San Francisco/Bay Area, Seattle, Boston, Washington, DC, and Chicago. New York City office employees work onsite three days per week; employees in Boston, DC, Chicago, Seattle, and San Francisco attend monthly Work Together Days. Active US work authorization is required.

Salary: $81,000–$95,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Investigate and resolve escalated reimbursement, accumulator, cost-share, eligibility, claims lifecycle, and adjudication cases.
• Act as a billing and cost-share subject matter expert and execute corrective actions in backend systems.
• Coordinate with Member Benefits Services, Adjudication, Payment Operations, Product, Client Success, and Client Operations.
• Maintain complete, audit-ready documentation for every case.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience in medical billing, health benefits, or payment escalation management.
• Understanding of medical billing, reimbursement processing, insurance claims processing, revenue cycle management, benefits design, and claim adjudication.
• Familiarity with Jira, Zendesk, Google Sheets, and Looker.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, critical thinking, root-cause analysis, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Active US work authorization is required.
