Clinical Billing & Payment Associate (Medical Billing): Posting and reconciling insurance and patient payments, processing claims and payment explanations, and supporting patient billing in an oral surgery department with an accent on clinical billing accuracy, claims processing, and medical records. Focus on investigating payment discrepancies, resolving denials, verifying insurance benefits, and explaining treatment plans to patients.
Location: On-site in Dallas, Texas, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Salary: $20.00 per hour

What you will do
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately in medical billing or practice management systems.
- Process claim denials, resubmit claims, transfer balances, and maintain accurate patient financial records.
- Retrieve and interpret explanations of benefits and electronic remittance advice.
- Investigate and resolve payment posting discrepancies and exceptions.
- Check in patients, answer billing questions, and verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorizations.
- Contact patients and insurance companies and explain dental and medical treatment plans.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least two years of experience in clinical billing, medical coding, payment posting, claims processing, or a related area.
- Knowledge of clinical billing, claims processes, payment posting, HIPAA guidelines, and electronic medical record systems.
- Working knowledge of word processing and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Dallas, Texas, during the stated Monday–Friday schedule.
Nice to have
- Associate’s degree or higher in business administration or a related field.
- Four years of related clinical billing, coding, payment posting, or claims processing experience.
- Experience with revenue cycle management and Epic EMR.
- AAPC or AHIMA medical coding certification.
- Knowledge of Texas Medicaid, TAMU rules, and regulations.
