Electrical Engineer (Power Generation)

Location: Full-time onsite role based in the Memphis region: Southaven, Mississippi or Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Travel of up to 50% to other locations is required.

What you will do

• Own plant electrical systems for on-site gas turbine generation supporting high-density AI supercomputing facilities.
• Design 34.5 kV collect and export systems, protection and control systems, e-houses, blackstart capability, and medium-voltage infrastructure.
• Develop single-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, relay settings, interconnection designs, and switching procedures.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, transient-stability, and harmonics studies using ETAP, PSS/E, or equivalent tools.
• Integrate generation with plant systems and downstream data center loads while supporting equipment specification, vendor selection, factory testing, commissioning, and energization.
• Conduct FMEA, root-cause investigations, and reliability modeling while coordinating with electrical, mechanical, power systems, construction, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or electrical engineering technology.
• Experience with gas turbine generators, excitation, synchronization, islanded operation, and blackstart.
• Experience owning plant electrical systems, including 34.5 kV collect/export, protection, e-houses, and switching authority.
• Knowledge of ERCOT, NERC reliability standards, utility interconnection processes, and applicable IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and UL standards.
• Ability to work onsite in the Memphis region, perform hands-on work in hazardous environments and at heights, work extended hours and weekends as needed, and travel up to 50%.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.

• Background with data centers, hyperscale facilities, or large on-site power infrastructure exceeding 50 MW.
• Experience supporting construction, commissioning, and operations of power systems.
• Track record of innovation or high-impact delivery in power infrastructure projects.
