Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

Location: Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States; corporate headquarters address listed in Thousand Oaks, California, United States. The role supports onsite plant operations, rotational on-call coverage, 24/7 reliability, and up to 10% domestic/international travel.

What you will do

• Lead electrical planning, design, construction support, commissioning, validation, and operational readiness for process, utility, and building systems.
• Support equipment selection, factory acceptance testing, site installation, punch-list resolution, engineering runs, and new product or technology introductions.
• Provide end-to-end electrical engineering support for plant operations and capital projects, including equipment modifications and system upgrades.
• Partner with Facilities & Engineering, Capital Projects, EHSS, global engineering, external design firms, and regulatory bodies.
• Lead technical root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and reliability improvements to reduce production downtime.
• Provide rotational on-call support for 24/7 plant operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED with 10 years of engineering experience, associate degree with 8 years, bachelor's degree with 4 years, master's degree with 2 years, or a doctorate.
• Experience designing and constructing medium-voltage electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, and paralleling generators.
• Knowledge of 600V-and-below distribution systems, switchgear, panelboards, lighting controls, power monitoring, generators, life-safety systems, and lightning protection.
• Knowledge of applicable GMP, building, fire, electrical, IEEE, NEC, NETA, OSHA, LEED, energy, and insurance regulations.
• Experience in regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments and the ability to support flexible schedules for 24/7 operations.
• Strong leadership, technical writing, communication, facilitation, teamwork, problem-solving, and project-management skills.

Nice to have

• Professional registration, such as a Professional Engineer license.
• Experience directing external design firms on capital projects.
• Experience applying AI tools or innovative technologies to troubleshooting and fault analysis.
