Platform Engineer (Backstage)

Location: Worldwide; fully remote or from one of the company's offices. Relocation support is available to Cyprus, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Georgia, or Spain with full visa and work permit support for the employee and family.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance a Backstage-powered developer portal.
• Build intuitive developer workflows that simplify infrastructure integration and service discovery.
• Design self-service workflows that balance automation and operational control.
• Integrate CI/CD pipelines, service catalogs, observability tools, APIs, and internal systems.
• Drive platform adoption across engineering teams with different requirements.
• Maintain high availability and performance in a dynamic cloud environment.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.
• Experience with Golang, Python, or other backend languages.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience integrating internal tools through APIs, GraphQL, and webhooks.
• Understanding of observability stacks such as Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
• Familiarity with OAuth, RBAC, security best practices, developer experience, automation, and open-source ecosystems.

Nice to have

• Experience with Backstage or similar internal developer portals.
• Knowledge of Temporal or other workflow orchestration tools.
