Platform Engineer (Python/Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Design and maintain Python services and REST APIs for packaging, installing, configuring, upgrading, and managing third-party applications inside Foundry.
• Define integration contracts connecting external engines with Foundry's IAM, metadata, and user interface layers.
• Own Helm charts, operators, offline bundles, and deployment workflows across Kubernetes distributions, cloud providers, sovereign clouds, and air-gapped environments.
• Integrate Foundry with OIDC/SAML identity providers, object storage, container registries, ingress, network policies, and GPU scheduling.
• Own CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and multi-environment integration testing.
• Implement observability with metrics, logs, and traces, and create operational runbooks for production deployments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of platform, infrastructure, or backend engineering experience, including 2+ years operating production workloads on Kubernetes.
• 3+ years of production Python experience building backend services, REST APIs, data models, tests, and packages.
• Strong experience with FastAPI, Django REST Framework, or similar frameworks; PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy or Alembic, async Python, Pytest, type hints, and linters.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud APIs, Helm, Docker, container registries, and CI/CD using GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
• Experience deploying software to on-premises, private-cloud, restricted-network, or air-gapped environments.
• Experience with AWS services including EKS, ECR, RDS, S3, and Secrets Manager, plus enterprise identity integrations such as OIDC, OAuth2, and SAML.

Nice to have

• Kubernetes operators or controllers, GitOps tooling, or plugin and app-store style systems.
• Python package or CLI publishing, GPU workloads on Kubernetes, and LLM serving tools.
• Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ML orchestration tools, Go, or open-source infrastructure contributions.
