Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco or Singapore, with remote candidates considered if they can work with 70–80% overlap with either San Francisco or Singapore time zones. Relocation and visa support are available for strong full-time candidates moving to the US or Singapore.

What you will do

• Own uptime, latency, provisioning speed, infrastructure cost, and incident response for core platform services.
• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Kubernetes/EKS, Helm, Docker, EC2, CodeBuild, ECR, S3, IAM, networking, and secrets management.
• Design scalable backend and platform systems, including capacity planning, autoscaling, queueing, backpressure, retries, cleanup jobs, and rollback paths.
• Improve dashboards, alerts, logs, traces, SLOs, runbooks, and on-call workflows.
• Build reliable CI/CD, release automation, environment management, and deployment workflows.
• Write maintainable code for automation, backend services, and internal developer tooling.

Requirements

• Production cloud infrastructure experience for a high-availability, user-facing platform.
• Deep experience with AWS infrastructure and containerized systems.
• Experience with CI/CD, environment management, release automation, observability, alerting, and incident response.
• Strong backend engineering judgment across service architecture, APIs, databases, asynchronous systems, queues, scaling limits, and production failure modes.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and apply sound engineering judgment across infrastructure, backend systems, and developer workflows.
• Remote candidates must maintain 70–80% working-hours overlap with San Francisco or Singapore time.

Nice to have

• Experience with data-heavy, ML/AI, workflow, marketplace, developer-tools, or enterprise platforms.
• Experience with bursty workloads, long-running jobs, sandboxed execution, distributed workers, or high-concurrency services.
• Experience reducing cloud spend through architecture, autoscaling, workload placement, caching, cleanup systems, or observability.
• Experience building internal platforms that improve developer productivity.
