Staff Platform Engineer (Web3)

Location: New York, New York; Miami, Florida; or remote within the United States. Hybrid work is available at US hub offices, while employees outside hub areas join the remote workforce. In-person onboarding at a hirify.global office is required.

Base salary: $168,000–$240,000 annually in New York, excluding discretionary bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Set technical direction and long-term strategy for cloud, networking, infrastructure, delivery, and reliability capabilities.
• Design, build, and operate platform services, APIs, CLIs, controllers, workflows, and automation using Go, TypeScript, Python, Rust, or similar technologies.
• Develop self-service workflows for provisioning environments, deploying services, managing infrastructure, and responding to operational conditions.
• Improve cloud, compute, storage, identity, networking, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure automation systems.
• Define SLOs, error budgets, production-readiness standards, incident-response practices, and automated recovery processes.
• Lead architecture reviews, mentor engineers, coordinate incident follow-through, and influence engineering standards across teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, infrastructure engineering, SRE, or an equivalent field, with substantial production ownership.
• Strong software engineering experience in at least one language such as Go, Python, TypeScript, or Rust, including services, APIs, automation, CLIs, or developer tools.
• Production experience with distributed systems, high availability, capacity planning, failure recovery, performance, and operational troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; infrastructure as code such as Terraform; and containers or orchestration such as Kubernetes, Docker, or Nomad.
• Experience with cloud network security, CI/CD, progressive delivery, observability, SLOs, error budgets, incident response, and blameless postmortems.
• Ability to set technical direction, lead architecture across teams, communicate complex tradeoffs, and mentor engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bazel or Buck2 build tooling.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry or comparable observability tooling.
• Experience with data-intensive, event-driven, or AI/ML workloads.
