Manager, System Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Joliet, Illinois, USA; onsite. Approximately 75% of the role is performed on a construction site.

Salary: $87,000–$119,900 per year, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Lead monitoring of automated adapters, vertical lifts, robotic vehicles, warehouse management systems, and related system components.
• Direct troubleshooting and analysis of advanced system and operational issues, identifying long-term corrective actions.
• Coordinate communications between site teams, customers, support teams, and other cross-functional groups.
• Manage escalated issues, product and service outages, project timelines, budgets, and system performance criteria through site go-live.
• Train and assist operators and backfill key onsite roles when needed.
• Drive continuous improvement, standardization, operational scheduling, and compliance with OSHA and customer safety procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience with automated systems and 3 years of direct people leadership.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with PLCs, including Allen Bradley and Siemens, ABB robots, SQL, Linux, and Python.
• Experience with project management, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma.
• Hands-on experience assembling, operating, and troubleshooting robotics and electromechanical systems.
• Must be able to work onsite in a construction environment, use required PPE, work at heights and in restrictive areas, climb stairs, lift items, and stand or walk for 10–12 hours.
