Senior AI Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL or remote within the USA

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 annual base salary, plus bonus, incentive compensation, and stock options.

What you will do

• Design, build, and productionize AI agents and workflows for support automation, voice-based carrier communication, and carrier onboarding.
• Develop, test, and maintain backend applications primarily in Python and in Java or Go.
• Design data models and database schemas using systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Integrate backend services with React-based user interfaces and collaborate with frontend engineers.
• Review code, troubleshoot production AI-agent workflows, and maintain quality throughout the Agile SDLC.
• Deploy and manage applications with the DevOps team using Kubernetes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend or software development experience with hands-on exposure to AI or agentic systems.
• Strong Python experience and proficiency in Java or Go.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with LangGraph or a similar agentic framework.
• Experience with object-oriented programming, databases, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Kubernetes, Git, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Experience across development, QA, and release phases, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Amazon Web Services or other cloud services.
