hirify.global is a remote-first digital product studio with more than 180 senior engineers and designers delivering technology and product work for startups, retail brands, and enterprises.

What you will do

• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities across multiple entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, consolidations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare financial statements, management reporting, variance analysis, and accounting policies with a clear audit trail.
• Manage accounting for time-and-materials, fixed-fee, and retainer engagements, including work in progress, unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, and revenue recognition.
• Partner with delivery leaders on project revenue, cost, margin, utilization, labour economics, forecasting, pricing, and billing issues.
• Oversee cash management, banking, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, audit, tax, and compliance activities.
• Improve finance systems, automate recurring workflows, use AI responsibly, and build reliable data flows between finance, delivery, sales, and people systems.

Requirements

• CPA designation and at least seven years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Experience owning close and financial reporting as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Senior Accounting Manager, or equivalent.
• Strong technical accounting judgment with experience in audit, tax, controls, and multi-entity reporting.
• Experience with project or contract-based revenue, including time-and-materials, fixed-fee, or retainer engagements.
• Strong spreadsheet skills and experience with Xero or a comparable cloud accounting platform.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote-first organization.

Nice to have

• Experience in a Canadian company operating with customers or team members in the United States.
• Experience implementing or optimizing an ERP, close management platform, reporting tool, or finance workflow.
• Experience supporting financing, acquisitions, diligence, or investor reporting.
