Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor (Chemical Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Lead, support, and develop Mechanical Maintenance Technicians.
• Coordinate planned, preventive, reactive, and corrective maintenance for safe and reliable plant operation.
• Plan and deliver site shutdowns with internal teams, contractors, materials, and specialist support.
• Manage mechanical contractors and ensure work meets safety and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow-up actions in SAP/CMMS.
• Work with Operations, EC&I, Planning, Reliability, and EHS teams to solve problems and improve safety, reliability, and performance.

Requirements

• Recognised Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Maintenance qualification, or equivalent.
• Strong industrial mechanical maintenance experience with rotating and static equipment, drive systems, and process plant.
• Experience leading technicians and coordinating planned, preventive, reactive maintenance, and shutdowns.
• Experience managing contractors and applying safe systems of work, isolations, and permit-to-work procedures.
• Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and reliability improvement skills, with experience using a CMMS, ideally SAP.
• Calm, practical decision-making approach with strong communication and people-development skills.

Nice to have

• COMAH or high-hazard manufacturing experience and knowledge of DSEAR/ATEX.
• HNC, HND, or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• CompEx Ex11 Mechanical, or willingness to achieve it.
• IOSH, NEBOSH, and/or SMSTS qualifications.
